How can I get a ticket?
Free tickets for the promenade performances on the City Walls and for the covered seating area in Guildhall Square can be booked here. You can, of course, come to the Square without a ticket – and take your chances on a ‘first come first serve’ basis – to enjoy the festival, the LegenDerry Food Market, the family fun and watch the big screens.

Is Entry to the festival free?
YES! Book your FREE tickets here and you’re in!

Is this a family friendly event?
Absolutely – family fun is at the core of this event. There will be many activities in Guildhall Square such as face painting, balloon modelling and all festival family favourites!

What type of tickets are available?

  • Guildhall Grandstand –  Book a comfortable covered seat in our grandstand. You will watch the story unfold along the Walls on a big screen while seeing several presenters reporting live in front of you as they interact in real time with the story unfolding on the Walls.  The final scene is also presented live in Guildhall Square. 
  • Walk the Walls – This is an immersive experience that puts you at the very heart of the show. You follow the story, literally, along the Walls. Walking through each scene, sometimes interacting with what’s happening, shaping the mood, atmosphere and story. You need to have energy and enthusiasm but the reward is an encompassing experience unlike any other. 

Do I need a ticket to attend? 
No. You only need a ticket to either accompany the show along the Walls or to be seated in the grandstand in Guildhall Square. (See What type of tickets are available for information – see above). There is a maximum capacity allowed on site therefore audience will be admitted on a first come first served basis. Entrance without a ticket means that there is no seating available for you but you will be able to view and enjoy the show from start to finish while standing in Guildhall Square. 

Will there be food and drink?
We are delighted to welcome LegendDerry Foods to Guildhall Square, so you can sample the best of local food and drink.

How long is each performance?
Each performance of Walled City Passion will last for approximately 75 minutes. Performances will be at 12.30pm and 4.30pm each day, so please check your ticket for your show time. Our site will be open all day from 11.30am – 6.30pm.

Will I be on TV?
This could be your chance – once you enter our set there is a high possibility you could be on TV! By entering the site you are giving your permission to  be filmed and broadcast. The 4:30pm show on Friday 15th April is being broadcast LIVE on RTÉ Player and BBC iPlayer.  An edited version of the show is airing on RTÉ One at 10:30pm on Sunday 17th April so no matter what show you attend you could possibly feature in this. 

Where can I park?
In any city centre car parks. The closest is Foyle Street Car Park, Quayside, Queen’s Quay Car Park, Foyle Road, Foyle Valley Railway Museum, Bishop Street Car Park and Victoria Market Car Park. In total, there are in excess of 2,500 off-street car parking spaces in the city centre. Also Foyleside West Car Park will be open and Foyleside East Car Park is also open 24 hours.

Where are the closest bus and train stations?
Foyle Street Bus Station is a one-minute walk from Guildhall Square. The train station is just across the Foyle and operates a shuttle bus service into Foyle Street Station.

Is there overnight accommodation?

What is Walled City Passion?

‘Walled City Passion’ is a live performance festival that reimagines the Easter story for a modern audience. This unique event – on April 14th ,15th and 16th – features promenade performances on Derry Londonderry’s historic walls, at 12.30 pm and 4.30 pm each day. It is broadcast on ‘big screens’ in Guildhall Square, with a host of family- friendly activities available daily from 11.30 am to 6.30 pm. Join in the fun and even become part of the story!

How do I watch Walled City Passion?

You can attend Walled City Passion and watch live on the big screens in Guildhall Square and Waterloo Place. It will also be streamed live on the BBC and RTÉ players at 4.30pm on Good Friday, and will be televised on RTÉ One on Easter Sunday night at 10.30pm. Performances can also be viewed on our own social media channels.
