EASTER FESTIVAL - THE PASSION REIMAGINED, LIVE!

GUILDHALL SQUARE & THE WALLS – DERRY~LONDONDERRY

Walled City Passion is an exciting new Festival and modern re-telling of the Easter story staged along the Walls of Derry and in Guildhall Square. Creating an electrifying event for all the family and told through live streaming and performance, this unique and dynamic production will be staged twice daily at 12:30pm & 4:30pm on Thursday 14th, Friday 15th & Saturday 16th April. Walled City Passion will also be screened live on RTÉ Player and BBC iPlayer on Good Friday as well as a 1-Hour TV Special on RTÉ One on Easter Sunday night. Why not come along? You might even end up on TV!!

What is Walled City Passion?

‘Walled City Passion’ is a live performance festival that reimagines the Easter story for a modern audience. This unique event – on April 14th ,15th and 16th – features promenade performances on Derry Londonderry’s historic walls, at 12.30 pm and 4.30 pm each day. It is broadcast on ‘big screens’ in Guildhall Square, with a host of family- friendly activities available daily from 11.30 am to 6.30 pm. Join in the fun and even become part of the story!

How do I watch Walled City Passion?

You can attend Walled City Passion and watch live on the big screens in Guildhall Square and Waterloo Place. It will also be streamed live on the BBC and RTÉ players at 4.30pm on Good Friday, and will be televised on RTÉ One on Easter Sunday night at 10.30pm. Performances can also be viewed on our own social media channels.

Walled City Passion will have two shows per day at 12:30pm and 4:30pm on Thursday 14th, Friday 15th and Saturday 16th April.

Televised Live

Walled City Passion will be broadcast live and exclusively on RTÉ Player and BBC iPlayer at 4:30pm on Good Friday - 15th April. A one-hour television 'special' of Walled City Passion will be screened at 10:30pm on RTÉ One on Easter Sunday at 10:30pm

Family Event

Bring the kids and come down and enjoy free face-painters and balloon artists at Walled City Passion, which is running a fun and friendly family festival in Guildhall Square on 14th , 15th and 16th April.

Live Performance

Walled City Passion is staged as a live, promenade performance on the famous city walls of Derry/Londonderry. Follow the 50-strong cast and crew as the show moves along the walls from St Columb's Cathedral, over Bishop Gate and onto Grand Parade before ending in Guildhall Square. The 80 minute immersive theatre event will offer a very exciting and intimate experience of the story of the Passion.
